PHILLIPS FARM ONLINE AUCTION

The Phillips Farm, a beloved, multigenerational family-run fixture in the town of Chatham, is fondly remembered today by locals and longtime summer visitors alike, especially for its salt-air-sweetened corn. The farm was established by Freeman Phillips Sr. in the late 1920s, and with it began the family's tradition of creating floats for the Chatham Fourth of July Parade.

Although the farm closed in 1986—its former property now home to what is known as Cornfield Plaza—the tradition of float building has endured, spanning five generations of the Phillips family. While the tradition continues under the Phillips Farm name, each float is made possible only through the countless contributions, creativity, and enthusiasm of a remarkable group of friends who have become a family in their own right. We are deeply grateful for the encouragement and support we receive from the community year after year, and we remain inspired to continue this dynamic tradition and to share our stories.

In response to this year's parade theme, "Anchored in Freedom: Timeless Tides and Traditions," we celebrate ‘our story’ by artistically recreating many of the buildings and landmarks that define our small town—a place where life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness continue to flourish.

Following the generous response from the community, we have decided to make a selection of these handcrafted pieces available for purchase in partnership with Monomoy Community Services. Through this special auction, you now have the opportunity to bring home a piece of this year's float, with all proceeds benefiting MCS and its ongoing mission to care for and strengthen our community.
